Today I am praying for all students everywhere. These first few weeks of the new school year are always a time of adjustment.
Praying for Sweet Mary, and my friend Jen, and all others with health concerns.
Praying for the G family as they start to settle back into a life without their baby Mary Katherine.
Praying for the jobless, and for Angie's family.
Praying for the government officials who could do so much if they put their priorities in the right place.
Thanking God for my husband's job, I do not ever think I will take employment for granted again.
Thanking God for the health of my family.
Thanking God for my home, that we could keep it.
Praising God for this beautiful day.
Praising God for my friends.
Praising God for my beautiful children who bring me joy every single day of my life.
Please join in the prayers. This post is linked to Fearless Friday and Sweet Peas

Fearless Friday: Hope
Thanks be to God this week has been full of hope for us.
1. My husband started his job this week, after 14 months and 2 days of unemployment. And it is just in the nick of time. And his job is only 30 miles from home. Before his unemployment, his commute was over 90 miles each way. He needed to refill his gas tank every two days. Now he will be able to go all week on a tank of gas! And the job has state benefits. He is thrilled because he has never worked anywhere that the benefits were nearly so good.
2. Also on Monday I met with an attorney and figured out how to save our home from the foreclosure auction which was scheduled for today. It will not be easy, but it can be done. It is being done, we are able to stay in our home and I am so grateful for that blessing. I love this home, my children love it here. We live in a beautiful place with caring and wonderful neighbors. I am so glad we can stay. Did I say "Thanks be to God for my husband's job" yet? Well, thanks be to God for my husband's job!!!
3. We started home school this week. While it was not without its glitches, it went well. I am pleased.
Petitions:
1. Please remember all of the unemployed still out there looking for jobs, and in a special way remember our hostess' husband, who has suffered through an extended period of unemployment, only to get a job that was downsized, and he is now unemployed yet again.
2. Please remember those who are sick, suffering with long-term illness, and those who care for them.
3. Please remember Sweet Mary, the G family, my auntie, and all others who need extra prayers for illness and suffering this week.
We ask for these things in faith, through Christ our Lord.
Amen

FEARless Friday
My heart is full this week, and I ask you to pray for everyone on Angie's page.
Please pray for a special family who has a baby due this week, and the baby, without a miracle, will not survive.
Please pray for Sweet Mary, as always.
Pray for all children who have started or are starting school soon, that their hearts and minds are turned towards their work, and their grades reflect their efforts and learning.
Oh my, the fear is intensifying around here. Please continue to pray for us. We still have no answers and our life could be very different a week from today. I'm trying to have faith and let go of the fear, if it is God's will that our life be so drastically changed, then there must be a reason for He has never let us down before. I suppose that is why fear is so very, very dangerous. Fear replaces trust. I am doing my best to trust, Lord, please give me the strength.
I beg our Blessed Mother to wrap her mantle of love and protection around our family at this time, and to intercede on our behalf with her most precious Son.
This is a very difficult time in our life, very difficult.
Thank you so very much for all of your prayers, you are always in mine. God bless. This post is linked to Angie at Free Spirit Haven, and to Sweet P's.

Fearless Friday
I cannot believe another week has passed and it is Friday again!! This has been a wild week at the Thorns home! Toward the end of last week I had to go take care of a few things at the college for The Oldest child. I ended up driving her to work (in NJ!!) so I could take her car to the bus, lock the keys in her car, and take the bus back home. I'll just bet you can see where this is going! As you know, if you are a regular reader, I always seem to get lost when I visit The Oldest. This time I got so lost in Fort Lee, NJ (not even sure how I ended up there, THAT is how lost I was) that by the time I found the park and ride, I had missed the bus. Of course, I did not know that at the time, and I had already locked my keys in the car. I had to sit for 4 hours at the bus stop waiting for The Oldest to finish her shift at work. Of course her very sweet boyfriend told me that I should have called him and he would have retrieved me. I had not wanted to inconvenience him, but next time I will because my poor achy bones were sad in the rainy weather. So this week I am thankful that I am not sitting at a bus station, and that I was safe while there.
I am praying for safe journey today, as I drive with The Oldest back to NJ, and attempt one more time to get to the bus, or perhaps the train this time, without incident.
I am praying for The Oldest, her Futbolista, and his family.
I am praying for Sweet Mary, who started a blog about her journey with the BIG C...Catholic, Cancer, Cured. Please visit her blog and pray for her. Tell her Lily sent you :)
I am praying hubbins gets a full time job very, very soon.
I am praying to get through my classes very, very soon so I can get myself a good paying job.
I am praying for my children to stay on the straight and narrow.
I am praying for a good school year, last year was so difficult with hubbins losing his job. I had to work so many hours outside the house, I'm praying this year will be a better one for my children.
I am praying for a more Christ-centered existence in our home. Unemployment has brought me more spiritual challenges than I ever imagined I would face, and that MUST change now.
And lastly, I am praying for all of you who read my blog. Feel free to share your prayer intentions either in the comment section, or in an email to me. I would be honored to pray for your specific intentions. If not, then you can be assured I pray for the intentions kept within your heart.
