St. Ireneaus

Today I remember my Grandma Irene, named such because she was born on the feast day of St. Irenaeus, over 100 years ago. I am going to hunt for pictures of her, perhaps to post at a later date. For today, I will be satisfied remembering the saint she was named for. Eternal rest grant unto Irene, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

Amazing the number of saints there are - this is the first time I have ever heard of this one.

First comment on this, Angela, so if you sent one earlier it did not come through :( Sorry!! But thank you sooo much for praying for my Grandma. She died when I was 11 or 12. She was a big influence in my life even though I only had her a short while. One of these days I'm going to find a picture or two of her and do a post. She is someone I loved a lot!!

I have always loved that name. Some of my favorite people are named Irene. Prayers for the repose of her soul. I look forward to seeing pictures. :)
