A Young Girl's Hair

My four girls were all the same
When upon a pair of scissors they came
About the age of three or four
Their baby locks all hit the floor.

It makes no difference if you tried
To make the offending scissors hide.
Whatever cuts, they do not care
Two used nail trimmers on their hair.

Doubtless, it is always done
The day before a big reunion
Or when the photographer will be
Taking pictures for posterity.

Lily,
This article made me chuckle! I too, have a 3 year old daughter who has recently gone through this and snipped her beautiful curls as well. And you're absolutely right, it does NOT matter how hard you try and hide the scissors, they somehow find them.

Thanks, Lesa. This is one of my husband's favorites. I always wonder why the girls do this...my theory is they want to hear their momma explain to the grandparents and other concerned onlookers just how it happened. What should I say? I wasn't watching? I had been looking for those scissors and was glad when she found them for me? I'm glad it made you laugh, that is what I was hoping for :-)

Oh what a great poem! : ) How it made me giggle. Thankfully, my dd has never done this. She is eight now so I think (at least I hope!) the danger has passed!
